IT IS TRUE that this country has a long list of inventions to its credit, but the cream separator is not. one of them. It was invented by Carl Gustaf De Laval in Sweden in 1878,a little more than 50 years ago. Gustaf De Laval was born in Sweden May 9, 1845. The name De Laval is of French origin. AB Separator was founded in 1883 by Gustaf de Laval and Oscar Lamm in Stockholm, Sweden. Its industry is heat transfer, separation and fluid handling (originally dairy and farm machinery) and its headquarters were in Stockholm, Sweden (1883-1960) and Tumba, Sweden (1960-present).
